Loft Residences Building by Unstudio

Metal bands twist like ribbons, wrapping Five Franklin Place with terraces and balconies, employing this decorative element as a functional tool. Interior of 55 homes designed in three different apartment types: Loft Residences, City Residences and Sky Penthouses, each with their own features a different architecture, the roof color and material choices. Five Franklin is a 20 floors building, designed by Ben van Berkel of Unstudio which will be located at 5 Franklin Place, between Broadway and Sixth in Tribeca. The building pays homage to the aesthetic iron icon TriBeCa, with a facade constructed from reflective black metal bands of varying width. Facade treatment offers privacy with maximum light and views within each residence.

The building is regarded as a tool to help explore the quality and sensation of the site and surrounding nature.Through a conscious handling of daylight on the surface of bare and shade laths climate modes and weather outside is always a part of it now. The theme for the plan has divided the house into a different zone, use that depends on climate and weather conditions. The primary function and is concentrated in the nucleus of a well insulated and can be heated in the winter. During warmer periods populated areas can be extended to the porch next door and hall which is only heated by solar radiation.
