A true delight. There are no other words to define the ‘ home of luxury that we’re about to talk. Just take a picture to be rushed to the impressed. Beautiful outside, beautiful inside. It’s called ” Balcastle “in its name is understood that the will of the ‘architect, the body has been designed to give the viewer’ s idea of being in front of small but beautiful” castle . ” A perfect example of ‘ American Gothic Revival , designed by Edward J. Elliston in 1911. The house overlooks an area of about half a hectare in the state of New York , in Southampton Village , close to beaches, shops and restaurants.
And as you can imagine is listed on the National Register of Historic Places . Much of what you see in the picture, from furniture to the external solution, it must be the current owner, the famous archiettetto and designer William Sofield who has done a masterful restoration.
The house is absolutely functional, with all the modern conveniences without losing its original charm. Sofield is not new to these restructuring measures. He, among others, tackled the residence that was the great Douglas Fairbanks , in Los Angeles.
We return to “castle”. It has particularly high ceilings and large windows with hand-carved pillars and tunnels. A spiral staircase , all ‘inside of’ missed the main tower, leading to a bedroom with tiled floors.
